Massage Therapy

Massage Therapy

Recovery, relief, and restoration. Designed for how your body actually feels.

Our massage therapy services go beyond relaxation to support recovery, mobility, and performance. Each session is customized based on your goals whether that is pain relief, stress reduction, lymph drainage, or active recovery.

Types of Massage

Can I use HSA or FSA funds for massage therapy?

Yes. State of the Art is a health and wellness center so eligibility applies to massage services.

What is the Difference between Therapeutic Massage and Swedish Massage?

Therapeutic massage is often targeted on an injured area and is a nice adjunct to those receiving physical therapy treatment. The massage therapist has a lighter touch and will likely give additional exercises and advice for recovery. Swedish massage is typically deeper pressure and utilized for general mobility and relaxation, but less recommended for those in pain.

Pilates

Pilates

Build Strength Through Better Movement.

Pilates is a versatile form of exercise that improves strength, flexibility, balance, posture, and body awareness. At State of the Art, we offer both Pilates Rehabilitation and Pilates Fitness, allowing clients to receive the right level of support whether they are recovering from an injury, pregnant or recently postpartum, or looking to elevate their overall wellness.

Pilates Rehabilitation

Pilates Rehab bridges the gap between physical therapy and independent exercise. It is designed for individuals recovering from injury, managing chronic pain, returning to activity after surgery, continuing exercise during and post pregnancy, or seeking a safe and guided transition back to Pilates fitness. The therapist or instructor will work side by side with a treating physical therapist in order to help a patient achieve their movement and wellness goals. Pilates rehab focuses on improving movement quality, restoring confidence in your body, building strength slowly, and addressing limitations that may be contributing to pain or interfering with daily activities.

Pilates Fitness

Pilates Fitness emphasizes whole-body strength, flexibility, endurance, posture, and movement efficiency. Sessions are designed to challenge and support clients promoting long-term health and wellness. Whether your goal is to improve athletic performance, increase core strength, reduce aches and pain, or simply move better throughout your day, Pilates is an excellent addition to your wellness routine. Pilates fitness can be private or in a small group setting (up to 3)

Why Choose State of the Art over a Pilates Studio?

Few Pilates studios offer direct collaboration with physical therapists, massage therapist, and other fitness professionals. Our integrated approach allows clients to receive the level of support they need while progressing safely towards their goals. The environment is suited well for those seeking a quieter space to learn.

Do I need Pilates experience?

No. We love for beginners to come and learn a new form of self care! All level are welcome from beginning to advanced.

What equipment do you use?

We use the Balanced Body Ladder barrel, chairs, and reformers with tower in our sessions. Core Align is also used in Pilates Rehabilitation.  Allison Kirkman, our primary Pilates Fitness instructor, is classically trained.
